Homeschooling in Australia
How homeschooling works in Australia
Homeschooling is legal in every state and territory, and each one runs its own registration process.
Most families register with their state or territory before they start, describe how they'll plan and teach, and keep records of learning. The details β who you apply to, what you submit and how progress is checked β differ by state, so start with the guide for where you live.
Guides for every state and territory
Our promises to families
Honest content
Every lesson and guide shows when it was created and whether it has been reviewed. We never claim our materials meet registration requirements.
Private by design
Children are nicknames and year levels β nothing more. No ads for children, no selling data, and you can delete everything at any time.
Healthy learning habits
No manipulative streaks or endless feeds. Short sessions, real-world activities and plenty of time away from screens.
Common questions
Is Success Homeschool really free?
Yes. The curriculum library, lesson plan templates, timetable generator, resource directory, practice checks and parent dashboard are free. We may offer optional extras in future, and Success Tutoring offers paid tutoring for families who want it β but the core platform stays free.
Is homeschooling legal in Australia?
Yes. Homeschooling (also called home education) is legal in every Australian state and territory. Each one has its own registration process run by its education department or regulator, so the first step is to check the rules where you live β our state and territory guides link straight to each official authority.
Does using Success Homeschool meet my state's homeschool registration requirements?
No website can promise that. Registration and learning requirements are set by each state and territory, and they change. Our state guides link directly to the official authority so you can check current rules. Our tools help you plan and keep records, but the responsibility and decision rest with you and your regulator.
Is the curriculum content based on the Australian Curriculum?
Our library is organised by year level and by the strands of the Australian Curriculum v9.0 (for example Number, Algebra and Measurement in maths). It is an independent resource, not endorsed by ACARA, and we show the review status of every lesson.
How do you protect my children's information?
Child profiles only need a nickname and year level. We never sell data, never show ads to children and never use behavioural advertising. You can export or permanently delete your family's data at any time from your settings.
I've never taught before. Can I still use this?
Absolutely. Every lesson includes plain-English explanations, worked examples, practice questions with an answer guide, common mistakes to watch for and tips written for parents rather than teachers.
